You draw back the curtains and can barely contain your excitement. It’s snowed! In no time, you’re out playing in soft powder, deep enough to reach the little ones’ waists. Later, you click into your skis. Go Alpine on the slopes of East Tyrol or switch to Nordic mode. In the neighbouring village, the world’s biathlon elite come to train, and 60 kilometres of cross-country trails are waiting for you too. Five minutes by car and you’re at the gondola. Golzentipp is a hidden gem, with 12.6 kilometres of slopes and sunny pistes that are also ideal for children. Looking for powder and a little more of a challenge? Head to Hochpustertal. The Sillian ski area is just 20 minutes away, while 3 Zinnen Dolomites can be reached in just under half an hour by car.
